II.         Old Business:

• Movie Night- Nicole will send out a reminder to vote
• Ask Brian about funding for the movie: Monique
• Sign-up sheet for the movie

III.         PBJ Thursday:

• Nicole will send out a reminder email

IV.         SGA Bonding:

• Game Night: November with pizza
• FNFFA events: try to find incentives for people to go

V.         General members:

• Reminder email, CC Erin
• Get them excited for elections
• One on one: talk to general members about the delegate program
• General member meeting after body meeting to discuss elections/open positions

I.         Meeting called to order at 11:08 pm.

 

II.         Old Business:

• Discussed goals from last week

 

III.         New Business:

• Change in meeting time to Tuesdays at 11:00am

 

IV.         Recruitment and Retention:

• We can go to PBJ to recruit- next week.

 

V.         SGA Bonding: Once or twice a semester

• Go to home games as a group: might have difficulties getting people to participate
• Going to the movies, out to eat, etc
• Amusement parks
• Things people would all want to participate
• Game Night

 

VI.         Big party at the end of semester/year

• Dress up event
• More serious than past parties

 

VII.         Movie Night

• Beginning of October after the body meeting
• What theater do we want to go to?
• Using the vans

 

Monique will pick a movies and making a ballot: North Haven Movie Theater. Mary will make more new member packets.

4/3/12

1. Attendance: Nicole Cassidy, Natalie Sabino, Jen Haddad
2. Call to Order:
3. New Business:
   1. The Future of BMI- The Board Discussed the vision for BMI in future semester. The Board would like to see the delegate program remain as a way to involve more than just 25 Representatives-at-Large. The board hopes that for the upcoming semester, more students will want to be involved in SGA so that the program can grow.
4. Relay For Life: The board discussed new ways to fundraise for Relay. Pisci offered to make Chili that SGA can sell the night of the event. Sal will work on figuring out the logistics and Nicole will work with Char to fill out a purchase order for $500 to purchase and then sell other snacks and drinks from Sam’s Club.  The amount of $500 is based on how much money was spent the previous year.
5. Announcements:
   1. TKE’s Volleyball Tournament for St. Jude’s is tonight. Nicole, Jen and Stefan will be there to represent SGA.

Board of Membership Involvement

Minutes of January 26, 2012

        I.            The meeting was called together at 3:19pm

II.            Members in attendance: Nicole Cassidy-Chairperson, Bethany Tuller, Jen Haddad, Natalie Sabino

III.            First Meeting Friday

1. The group looked over the Interest sheet and made necessary edits. Nicole will be putting together new member packets.
2. FNFFA- Hockey Game

i.      Buses leave at 8:30pm, the game starts at 9:30pm at the Hamden Rink

ii.      BMI will be giving out an incentive to members who attend this event.

IV.            Club Fair- Feb. 6^th

1. We need members to sign-up to help out.
2. We will have a box with supplies and candy in the office.
3. Our recommendations for the event are:

i.      Arrive at the beginning of set-up to get table in good location.

ii.      Have people at the table to discuss SGA with interested people, but also have people walk around and talk with people in clubs and orgs.

iii.      Have sign-up sheet and interest form, highlight names of people who fill out interest forms and send them a more personal email.

iv.      We need established meeting times to advertise at Club Fair

V.            SGA Bonding

1. Trivia game with RHA

i.      Natalie will be talking with RHA to find out possible dates

1. Spring Capture The Flag Game

i.      We want to do this as an internal event, possibly invite alums

1. Relay for Life

i.      We want to create an SGA team.

1. We need to find out logistics such as who our team captain will be as well as plan for a fundraiser before Relay.

Board of Membership Involvement

Attendence: Nicole Cassidy, Natalie Sabino, Bethany Tuller

I.                    Meeting called to order at 3:37pm

II.                  Club Fair:

A.                  Setup box is in the office. Nicole will be there for setup. She will be asking Jen to send out a mass text and have everyone respond with availability.  Nicole also made a flyer for us to hand out.

III.               Hockey Game raffle update:

A.                  At Friday’s meeting we will put the names of members who attended the hockey into a raffle and pick someone to choose lunch for next week.

IV.               Relay for Life:

A.                  Nicole created a Relay team online; Bethany will have members sign up on Friday’s meeting.

B.                  Our team name is currently “Student Government Association”, but we will discuss 90’s related name.

C.                  An idea for fundraising is a bouncy house/obstacle course that we will use for a fundraiser

D.                 Food Ideas: Hot Chocolate/Coffee and donuts for late evening foods. 90’s snack packs!
